Hippotherapy is conducted by a Doctor of Physical Therapy or a Certified Occupational Therapist at Victory Hill TH. Our Therapists either hold a certification from the American Hippotherapy Association or are working towards completing their certification. This program is best suited for ages two and a half to seven years old and ideal for children whose physician has recommended physical or occupational therapy. This modality strengthens muscle groups, improves balance, coordination, spatial/body awareness, postural control and both large and fine motor skills. Other goals we work on are confidence, communication and social skills. A script from the child’s physician is needed for PT or OT.
