The Christian Bressler Memorial Scholarship
We are honored to announce a new memorial scholarship celebrating the life of Sergeant Christian Bressler. This scholarship will allow for active military members, veterans and their families to attend our Horses 4 Heroes program at little-to-no cost.
Christian Edward Bressler, age 30, formerly of Romeo, Michigan, passed away on Friday August 25, 2023 in a motorcycle accident in Alaska. Christian was born January 16, 1993 in Middletown New York, the son of Timothy and Victoria (Van Pelt) Bressler. Christian graduated from Romeo High School in 2011. On March 25, 2013 he was sworn in to the United States Air Force where he served as a mechanic and earned the rank of Technical Sergeant. During his more than ten years of service he was stationed in South Carolina, South Dakota, South Korea, Guam and most recently Alaska.
Christian enjoyed riding his motorcycle, as well as hunting and fishing in Alaska. He just loved being outdoors. He was a leader among his peers; hard working and attentive to detail. His friends appreciated his mature and easy going disposition, often referring to him as “Padre” for the practical guidance he offered.
Christian’s parents grew up in Pine Bush, New York. His father, Tim was employed by Chrysler in Tarrytown and worked his way up in the UAW. Tim’s career success in the UAW brought the family to Michigan around 1998. Christian’s mother, Vikki, loved horses all her life. She worked at Jukas Stables & Ed Hart Racing Stable. She often raced sulkies at Monticello and Yonkers Raceways.
Christian is survived by his parents, Timothy and Victoria Bressler, siblings Helen Bressler (Kenny Richardson), Stephen Bressler (Kayla Yax) all of Michigan. Grandparents Robert and Joan Van Pelt, and David and Kathleen Bressler, niece Amelia Joan Bressler, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
We feel truly honored at Victory Hill to be able to honor Christian’s memory in this way! His life has left an indelible mark on so many and we are committed to helping his memory live on through the lasting difference his scholarship is making to so many more!
